If it's Windows XP, no, it'll work just fine. Just make sure to install the new motherboard drivers and stuff, but it's recommended you do a fresh install, but not necessary. I also recommend you get Vista so you can make the most of DX10

DarkLord is right - also 1 8800 is cheaper than 2 8600's anyway and you'll get better performance.

i dont like vista much, since most of the mmo i played still have problem with vista and some programs too

Vista's quite enjoyable, even old games like Starcraft and Diablo I work on it. Some people have to set compatibility settings, I haven't had to yet. Love Vista.
