Thanks very much for those pictures Alex. I don't think we need to persue overheating. I think it's safe to say it's unlikely at this point, especially in light of those pictures, enough cooling and it's nice any tidy, no obstructions in terms of airflow.
Let's rule out
RAM.
- If you do a search on google for
memtest86 - the very first item on the list will bring you straight to memtest86.com.
- Click on
Free Download to the left, download and open "Download - Pre-Compiled Memtest86 v3.4a installable from Windows and DOS"
- Once downloaded it will bring up a list of file in whatever zip utility you have installed on your PC (if you don't have one, then please let me know). There will be four files listed,
install.bat, memtest.bin, rawrite.exe and
readme.1st.
- Extract these files to a location you will remember (such as your desktop).
- Insert a blank floppy disk in the drive, and double click on
install.bat
- A black command window will then appear, when prompted for your target drive, type in
a and then press [ENTER] twice.
- Memtest will then install itself onto your floppy disk.
- Restart your PC, with the floppy disk still in the drive, and your PC should start running memtest instead of Windows.
- Let memtest do it's work, which can sometimes take several hours, maybe leave it run overnight.
Any problems with your
RAM will appear as faulting addresses highlighted in red.
