Default Restore PC to factory state

Hi everyone! I have read previous threads on this subject but I think my enquiry is different from the others. I hope you can advise me. I want to pass on my old HP Pavilion pc to my son but first I wish to get rid of all my old data and documents and all the other clutter that has built up. I have a PC recovery DVD and I have already successfully resored the system. However, the recovery left my documents in place and although the various programs I'd installed over th years have gone, the desktop shortcuts are still there.

How can I restore the system to factory condition. I have had a new pc for some time and all the data I want is on it. I just don't want any clutter on my old pc when I give it to my son.

Thanks in anticipation for any help.

hello eusebius,

there should be an option inside your recovery that lets you clear out all your documents.
