Ok I bought a new pretty case cause thats what my girl wanted and was planning to change everything out, and when I did finally get around to doing it when I first fired it up I had no monitor.. So I rest the bios thinking maybe it was because I had added some new memory and maybe that could be the problem. Well to my suprise that worked.. So I decided I would add a new HD to the mix.. It loaded up and XP Pro started loading just like it should. But it only gets so far before the machine locks up completely.. I've tried this same thing three to four times and I get the same results each time.. Any ideas would be appreciated... Plus it would get her off my Dell...lol Thanks in advance..

Sounds like bad ram, I've had that happen to me before. Try this, remove everything except 1 stick of RAM, the processor, and the video card, try booting it. If it successfully boots to an "Operating System not found" message or similar then turn it off and connect the main HD, boot up again, do this until you find the problem
If it doesn't boot up the first try then swap the ram stick and try...it can be a lengthy process but it worked for me.
If the only thing you added was ram though, that's what I'd bet it is
Also, can you please post the specs for this PC?
