Default [Answered] AcerPower F6 Motherboard

Hi I am having problem with a AcerPower F6 Desktop computer. Its out of warranty "typicial" and as soon as you turn it on you get no display or even a beep from the memory. The fan seems to run a full speed and that is all. Taking the memory out or even swapping it makes no difference and I have also tried changing the board battery...still nothing. I rang acer and they think its the board. Does anyone know where I can get a AcerPower F6 Motherboard from thats fair priced? I believe the boards are fairly basic spec.

Thanks
Phil

Hey Phil,

It's a long shot, but it might be worth reseating the CPU. Those symptoms can occur if there is no CPU present or detected. Memory and expansion card problems will always beep if a problem is detected.

These boards are not the easiest to get hold of, let alone looking for a cheap one, you may want to keep your eyes open on e-bay. Acer don't distribute their motherboard like ASUS and ABIT, they are normally made specifically for their machines, but you may be able to find a second hand one. I've seen some eledged new Acer motherboards around the net, so I may not have all the facts straight there. You'll need the details of your motherboard such as model number. You can use SIW: SIW | Download should give you the details you need.

EDIT: Marked as Answered.

Hi there Phil. I'm facing the same situation as I have an AcerPower F6 and am getting CMOS battery low errors and CMOS Date/Time not set ones. Looks like I need to replace the battery.
Do you still have the details of the replacement battery you obtained - the part number and retailer?

Ta
