yea i guessed as much.

the bios was set to agp.

the p4 is a 2.4 gig celeron so guess its fairly new

the ram is ddr2

the motherboard will not make any beeps no matter what configuration or components are attached. the psu however after taking apart had burn marks near the casing. could this have overheated and be causing the problem or is it still more likely to be the motherboard

Hi I would say the power supply to be honest.Replace with a good one not cheap they dont last.

Hopefully no damage has been caused to MB.

Let me ask another tech for a second opinion first.
