I recently had to reformat my Acer Ferrari 3400 laptop. Only to find out the image on the restore disks that came with the laptop was corrupted and useless. I had another copy of windows XP lying around so I installed that instead. After downloaded the drivers I required to get my laptop up and running again everything was working except my wireless. I've gone to the Acer site and downloaded the required drivers for my wireless NIC, installed them but I'm not getting anything. My wireless NIC doesn't show up in the device manager. I've tried to add it through the "add hardware" but don't get any options for it. If anyone could help me get my Wireless connection back again it would be greatly appreciated.
I am not familiar with your particular laptop but some have a wireless switch (or combination of Fn + key) to turn the wireless card off and on....do you have one of those?
Yes, theres a button on the front that suppose to turn the card on/off, but it doesn't do anything now. I've had it on when I installed the drivers, and I've also tried it off.
