Yeah your right, I just saw 945 in the title and assumed it was socket 945, but yes that motherboard will work. Not too keen on the P4's myself. Gigabyte?, I thought you were more of an ASUS guy?

Not my PC Well theres two choices:

Gigabyte:
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

Asus:

Guess they both work, which one do you think is better ?

Well I wouldn't mind going 76p over budget

So what do you think asus or gigabyte? Is there any differences between them two that I should think about?

Gigabyte are good manufacturers, but ASUS are the best out there, next to ABIT. I would personally never go for a Gigabyte motherboard, but I'm personally not too keen on the P5G series either. It's a hard choice, but I think given those option, I would gridgingly go for the Gigabyte board. As you probably already know, don't forget that if your changing your original motherboard, you'll also need to re-install your OS later.

Yep and by the looks of it, gonna need to buy a new copy as only a restore disc was provided

Don't fancy teaching linux to everyone, and doubt they would want to use it

Well I order the gigabyte then and report back when it arrives

Err just remembered the PSU mobo connector is 20pin, there is 4 pins left on the mobo when it is plugged in. Will this work fine with the new gigabyte board?
