The HD3850 is about half the price of the 8800gt, i found one on a UK site ATI Radeon HD 3850 256MB - PCI-E2.0 - Aria Technology

If possible, i reccomend Visiontek, Diamond, or Sapphire ATi Cards. I like to stick with well known brands. =D

I had an ATI sapphire 9600 in my old pc, it was incredible, no complaints on that judgement. But from the reviews, it seems nvidia are a bit ahead of ATI. Especially with the hyped up 8800 architecture

Yes, in the ultra-high end enthusiast market, the Geforce 8800s destroy single cards ATi currently has. But in the upper-mid range market, ATi beats nvidia. The HD 3850 is far more powerful than the Geforce 8600GT/GTS for not too much more.. It absolutelys shreds 8600 benchmarks. I upgraded to this from one, and the difference is night and day. 2 3850s can match or even beat out a 8800GTX, which is far more expensive. Trust me, the 3850 will serve you well. It is all you need, the 8800 is overkill.

I just checked your PC spec, I have the EXACT same as yours, apart from the graphics card and your extra 200 gb HDD. Is you motherboard P35 Neo? If so are you able to run current games to a satisfactory standard?
