Default Processor Advice

I would like to get a new processor but i am not sure if the one i would like to get will be compatible with my motherboard.

My motherboard: NEC GA-81915pmd

The processor i would like to get: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750

The processor i currently have: Intel Pentium 4 HT 524

Help would be very much appreciated.

Hello gakou, welcome! Unfortunately, the answer is no. Your motherboard has an Intel 915 Chipset. They are not compatible with Core 2 Duo Processors.

lol you will never find that. there has never been sold a 4Ghz retail processor. you really cant upgrade the processor you have now unfortunately. The highest you can go is another Pentium 4, and its not worth the money. It would would be much wiser to either keep what you have for awhile, or get a whole new computer
EDIT>pentium 4s sucked anyway. lol
