iPod skips songs

Hey everyone, Happy Christmas!
I got an iPod about a month ago and i'm having lots of problems with it skipping.
iPod 4th Generation, has grayscale screen. 20 GB.

The skipping only occurs with songs that are purchased from the iTunes music store. All my other MP3s are fine. Sometimes the songs will play, sometimes they will not. It just skips to the next song. It's so bad that it will even skip through my entire 30 song Purchased Playlist!

I've tried about everything i could possibly think of. Restoring the iPod, installing latest version of iTunes, Unauthorizing and Reauthorizing the computer. Plugging the iPod into the computer and syncing it will make it work for about a day.
Any thoughts?

Hey there

I don't have an iPod (mainly due to the horrible iTunes software!!) but have you checked for firmware updates for yours?

Yeah, it's completely updated. iTunes is current, the iPod has the latest firmware.

I got my iPod on ebay for about $30 and fixed it up by detaching the cover off and replacing the battery. Other than those DRM issues, it works fine.
