Default Hi i want to connect my PS3 to the internet but my modem dosnt have an ethernet input

Hi i want to connect my PS3 to the internet but my modem dosnt have an ethernet input It just has a wire from the phone line that goes into the modem, then a small line that goes into my pc, like the smaller version of the lan slot.

Its this modem

It has 1 input and thats the wire from the modem to the pc, and it has one wire that i cant take out that goes straight to the phone line (My splitter)

My friend said i can by a router so that i can plug my modem into the router and then the router has 4 Ethernet slots so i can connect my pc and PS3 at the same time.

Trouble is how can my router connect through my modem if i dont sign in? Because when i turn on my pc if i want to connect to the internet i have to go to

Start menu > connect to > Homecall broadband > then click "dial" and it connects in like 2 seconds.

So will my Router automaticly sign in to the internet via my Modem, or will i have to sign in my pc to initiate the modem to be able to provide the router with internet access to my ps3?

THANKS PCHF, Merry Christmas

If you buy an ADSL router, you will enter your ISP details on the router config pages so that your router will make the connection and keep the connection permanently - independently of your PC/PS3 being on or off.

Yes thedudesam. You type in an address (depending on your router make and model) into the address bar of your web browser and it will load them pages. From which you can setup the connection settings and other router stuff such as port forwarding
