The worse thing you could do is place another hard drive from another computer in and try booting it. That hard drive is setup for the configuration of the other system not the one your trying to boot.
I am assuming you are running Windows XP on the system with the stop error, please correct me if I am wrong. The Stop 0x24 message indicates that a problem occurred within Ntfs.sys, the driver file that allows the system to read and write to NTFS file system drives. A similar Stop message, 0x23, exists for the file allocation table (FAT16 or FAT32) file systems. Windows XP Stop messages Try fixing the MBR Microsoft Corporation

im trying that now thanks, lol i put the another cpu and ram into that computer from another one, still had the same problem oviously but then i put everything back together on my other computer and that one started doing the same thing. but on that computer i can under clock the cpu which i did from 3 ghz to 1.5 and that let me start it up in safemode. also the cpu on the first broken computer is running at ~ 62 degrees celcius which is hot? the first computer had hardly any thermal grease on it? (not sure if its sposed to have hardly any tho)
Thanks |

im having a bit of trouble getting to the recovery console i put in the windows cd and it says im sposed to be able to get to the recovery console from there but i can select, while its loading automatid system recovery ( have to push f7 at the start becuase it says my motherboard is not acpi (or something like acpi)and i get some other stop error), which i need a floppy disc for??. and if i let the windows setup run it goes to checking if preivous versions of windows are instaled I just get the same stop message again, argh got a new stop message 0x00000050 ("page fault nonpaged area")

Sounds like you are needing your SATA drivers which requires you to press F6 not F7
