I am ex-military (just got out!) I was stationed on the west coast, but my family, friends and most everyone I know and keep in touch with is on the east coast. So I shipped most of my stuff home, desktop included.
Problem is, it arrived today, and while I REALLY would not want to take this thing apart (again), it refuses to boot. the lights come on, the cooling fans start, it get all of a second or two into the boot process, and then it stops, waits a moment or two.... and tries to boot again!
Having built this thing from scratch, I'm very proud of it, and I was looking forwards to using it again- and showing it off to my friends. What can I do to help narow down what I need to troubleshoot in this case?
Thanks in advance.

Do you get any soundsignals from the bios, e.g. 2 short beeps and then 1 long?

Sorry for the delay. (It's been what, a month and a half/ two months since I posted this?) The issue has been resolved; and no, there was no bios loading, nor any internal speaker beeps from the motherboard. you could get most of the way through saying "Mississippi' just once as though counting seconds; that was how long the pc would be on for. The issue was that one of my fans was drawing too much voltage and tripping the reset breaker on the power supply. A replacement fan solved this.
