Default modem not working

I always used the modem Thomson Speedtouch 330 from my old ISP for internet. Now I got a new ISP but the old one still goes on untill the end of the contractperiod.
Anyway, I already installed a networkcard for the new ISP wich uses and ethernetmodem, the old ISP gave an USBmodem. After I installed the networkcard I checked to connection from the new ISP and it worked. Today I connected the usbmodem from the old ISP again but the modem doesn't work anymore
I installed (again) the newest driver wich wasn't newer than the one installed but this didn't worked. I get this notification when I connect the old USBmodem:
The USB-deive is not being reconisged
One of the on the computer connected USB-devices doesn't work properly. It is unknown wich device.
Click on this message for help at solving this problem.

When I click the message I get this window: attachment

Onbekend apparaat
is Dutch for Unknown device

I can use the new ISP for internet but then I have and cable all across my house. I'm waiting for and router but for now I want to use the old ISP!

Could it be because I installed the new networkcard and the computer can't give enough power to the modem anymore?

Default Re: modem not working

Hi!

I removed the networkcard and indeed, it was the powersupply. Now the modem works again. I had the same problem with ans USBstorage device when the networkcard was installed so it wasn't the modem that caused the problem but just the networkcard. Is there no other solution then buying a better PSU?
