I have a Creative Zen Micro MP3 player, which is basically a portable hard drive.

It worked before, then went haywire, so I deleted it's firmware. Trouble is, now my PC, nor the programs used to reinstall the firmware onto it detect the player.

When it is connected to my PC, Windows XP tries to install it, but I get an error at the end saying: : specified service does not exist as an installed device.


Any help? It is basically a 6 GB paper weight at the moment.

Hey it's grand. I'll wait till they come along.

Btw, now it does not recognise other USB devices either. It will not recognise my memory stick.

This is really frustrating.
