ps im planning on installing windows vista but i would like to know will all my hdd data still be there when i have installed and can i go back to my orginal os as i dont have a disk i only have system restore and i got alot of free programs with my pc.
I wouldn't recommend Vista for that computer, honestly. Vista is expensive for a full, non-upgrade copy (RECOMMENDED) and your computer may not handle it well. And no, you will lose all your data unless you do an upgrade (which isn't recommended; always do a clean install) and you'll need to get special disks to go back to your old OS. Packard Bell probably charges for them.

Please make a new thread for that.

Hey, xxnamxx.

Since this thread is getting really big (and old), and it was originally about upgrading and not a new build, I suggest making a new thread about this. Someone will definitely help you in a new thread, but if they see this thread be so big they'll be hesitant to look and help especially since the problem on the first page is different than what you're asking now.

The best area for the new thread would be the "Computer DIY" section. Hope to see you there!
