Question [Answered] Sharing Thru a USB Hub

So here's my problem. I have a printer and an external hard drive. I also have two computers, a PC running XP and a Macbook Pro.

My question is, is it possible to hook the printer to a usb hub and plug both computers into it so they can share the printer. Also, would it be possible to plug the mac format hard drive into it.

If not, how can I go about doing it besides sharing thru a network. I'm leaving for college soon and don't want to share my printer on a network.

Smile Re: Sharing Thru a USB Hub

Never Had a chance to try one out yet but a usb "switch" is what you need I would think. Here's a couple of pages on them. If anyone else has actually used one feel free to chime in, I would like to know how well they work myself.

USB Switch, Peripheral Sharing

USB Switch, 2 Port

hope this helps.
