Ok, thats my copy paste job of this system i've been oodeling on eBay (no worry tis from a store not a regular auction) and so far i plan on upgrade possibly to a Core 2 Duo CPU, 2gb ram, 200gb HDD, better DVDRW, atm i have a 8500gt i plan on putting in it if i get it, 500-700w PSU.....remember these are my future plans..except the 8500gt I've already bought that...its just lying here...because this computer, the one im typing on, does not have a PCIe slot only AGP.... 4x (family comp, i don't care, installed a 9600pro 256mb so i could at least play some games :P) i need to know if this setup is worth $350 and will i be able to upgrade it ...a lot! oh yes also in the future i plan to go 8800gtx.. :P just have to.

Hello HyeVltg3,

Biggest problem I see on that build is slow memory and max 2 gigs. If you plan on putting all that awesome gear in it for gaming, you might want to get something with fast DDR3 memory that can handle more.

Also, it sounds like you are going to get this computer, then just take everything out of it and put new stuff in lol. Why not just wait till you have some more $$ and build something yourself?

Otherwise, everything seems pretty good for 350 dollars. Especially if it is new.

Here is a link to the motherboard specs - ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - that will tell you all about what you can do with the computer in the future.

Hope that helps!

ya i plan to just this as a base and built to it but the first upgrade will be to get the Asus Striker Extreme 680i Motherboard....unless you can recommend a better Motherboard...but yea i plan to get it because i need a computer ...now, so i can't really just save up more to build my own.

and yes it is for $350 all new.

OK sorry the double posting..***

Ok since that setups really sucks if i think about it.. how about this for $400?

CPU - Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2160 1.80GHz 1MB FSB 800MHz
Memory 1 - 512MB DDR2 667MHz/PC2-5300 (Major Brand)
Memory 2 - 512MB DDR2 667MHz/PC2-5300 (Major Brand)
Motherboard - ASRock ConRoe1333-D667 (VGA,2DDR2-667,PCI-E)
Hard Drive 1 - Western Digital 250GB 7200RPM 8MB Cache
Optical Drive 1 - LG 18X GSA-H54N DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Rewriter (Black)
Video - Onboard Video
Audio - Onboard Audio
Network Card - Onboard Network Card
Case - Deluxe G505 Black Case
Power Supply - Optimax 470W (20-24 Pins)

The only thing that bugs me is that the Motherboard's details say that *****

*Due to the chipset limitation, the actual memory size may be less than 4GB for the reservation for system usage under Windows® XP, Windows® XP 64-bit, Windows® Vista™ and Windows® Vista™ 64-bit.

Whats this mean?..i see that there are 2 mobos??!? Rev. 0.1 and Rev 0.2....

ok back to the computer at hand... Remember my plans for it are...

E6700 CPU
2-4gb RAM
(same HDD)
8800GTX GPU
(A Power Supply Unit that can keep the above, running at theirs peaks.)

Will this be possible? if there are any hardware changes i'll have to do in the feature, can you just post them?

Both of them are about the same thing. If you don't plan on getting those upgrades for a while, I'd go with the second choice just to have the better cpu for the time being.

Both systems lack in memory speed. But that's about it. If you're changing the motherboard in the future, just get one with faster memory.

Sorry for the 6 Day late reply.

But what exactly is "Fast" memory?

I've made up my mind an this is probably the comuter i will be getting.

CPU---------------------- Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2160 1.80GHz 1MB FSB 800MHz
Memory 1 ----------------- 512MB DDR2 667MHz/PC2-5300 (Major Brand)
Memory 2 ------------ 512MB DDR2 667MHz/PC2-5300 (Major Brand)
Motherboard ------------ ASRock ConRoe1333-D667 (VGA,2DDR2-667,PCI-E)
Hard Drive 1 -------------- Western Digital 250GB 7200RPM 8MB Cache (WD2500JS)
Optical Drive 1 --------------- LG 18X GSA-H54N DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Rewriter (Black)
Video ---------- Onboard Video
Audio ------------- Onboard Audio
Network Card ---------------- Onboard Network Card
Case ------------- Deluxe G505 Black Case
Power Supply --------------- Optimax 470W (20-24 Pins)

It says that the memory is clocked at 667mhz...i know the latest is 800mhz...but wouldn't 667mhz still be considered..fast...since its in second place?

For a current system, those are good specs.

If you plan on adding a really high end video card and a quad core CPU to that machine, then DDR2 667 is going to be the bottleneck...not that it is even "slow" really. Like I said in the last post, if you get a different motherboard in the future, just get one with faster memory...that will do a quad core cpu and nice high end video card justice.

And no, DDR2 800 isn't the fastest. Right now you can get DDR2 up to 1300 mhz. You can also get up to DDR3 1866....but you're talking about lots of $$$. And you need a motherboard that supports those speeds.

For the money you are spending, you are getting a good deal and good specs for current games. Let's put it that way
