Default MP3 player help

Hi, off topic, but anyone know anything about MP3 players?

I put music on my friends MP3 for him occasionally, but the latest time I tried, it won't let me view the files contained on it, it just asks me if I want to format it. I assumed I din't have the drivers, as I have re-formatted my hard drive since I last updated his MP3.

So I installed the driver from CD, but it still wouldn't work.

I then tried it on 2 other PC's with the same result, so there's obviously a problem with the MP3 player.

The problem is, if I format it, will it just remove the music from the player, or all of the software on it too?

I've found the company's website, here

Matsunichi Download

The player is MF326. I've downloaded the info from there, but is that just the drivers?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi this is also happening with my digital camera and my USB storage key, so it's obviously a problem with the PC. I think that my pc is recognising the USB port (or whatever is plugged into it) as a sub-drive of D: (the CD drive). I don't think this is correct.

I'm pretty sure it's something to do with the fact that I installed a new DVD burner last month. Could it be to do with the settings on the back of the burner (the master/slave positions?).

This problem has occurred since I installed the burner, so it must be something to do with that.

Get into the control panel.... , check 'system'.. down at the bottom... US... have your disk ready for WIN..... update the driver for your USB port.... it's a driver prob.. yes, it says 'no driver needed'... WRONG!!!

Try it.

Hey Bushwacka You might have to assign it a letter in the diskmanagement section of windows some time it gets messed up and asigns the same drive letter as an existing drive then you can't see it
