Exclamation Move Data To External Hardrive?

is there anyway I can move all my data from my hardrive to an external hardrive because my motherboard got fried and i'm thinkin of jus gettin a whole new computer but need the data from my hardrive. is this possible to do? i have so many files that i need for my music and other business. please help. any help would be appreciated.

If you have a second PC the best way would be to plug the hard drive from the fried PC in to the second PC as a slave hard drive then boot up the PC plug in the Ext USB drive and copy the data to it.

so then it's possible to do it? does it have to be the same kind of computer or can it be any kind?

No, it can be any version of windows. If you are getting a new PC it will probably be Windows Vista and you should have no problem. Just set the old HD as a slave in the new computer and you should be able to transfer anything you need off of it.

well my brother said he can gt me a used computer for free. can i still use it on this one? and how much will a slave hard drive cost?

Lol, no you will set the hard drive you have all your data on as a slave and you will put it in the other computer. Take the computer for free from your brother if you can and here is a guide on how to put your hard drive with all your data on it into the new computer: How to Add an Extra Hard Drive - wikiHow.

lol, oh so the slave hard drive is just wut u r setting it as? wut do i need to put in my hard drive to the computer i'm getting from my brother?
