Default My computer completely freezes when i plug something in the USB!

Hi, I have just got my computer stable throught the help of another thread on this site (http://www.pchelpforum.com/pc-hardwa...tarting-5.html), but now whenever im on the computer when I insert any usb device the computer will freeze up and i will have to hold in the turn on button for 5 seconds to turn it off.
This is the only way as it just locks up, and cant use ctrl + alt +del either.

However, if i leave any usb device in and turn it off then turn it back on, the device works fine.
This is also the same if i take my keyboard or mouse out and plug it into any other usb slot it will freeze, but if they are left in when the computer has been turned on they work normally when the computer is on.

I am running Windows XP.

Thanks, Sam

Hello sammo. When your computer freezes, if you take the usb device out of the usb port does your computer begin to work again?

Hi sammo!

Does the problem occur on the USB ports on the backside of your PC, thus the ones on your mainboard? Or is it happening using your front USB?
Or does this not make any difference.

Blue

Hi, it applies to all of the usb ports, and also when i take the usb out it still just keeps frozen, meaning i have to turn the pc off.
Thanks
