Hi I recently had an error while my computer booted up saying that the hal.dll is missing or corrupt, so I followed steps to replace it with the one on my windows xp cd. While booting the computer, the USB mouse and keyboard appear to work at first but then cut off once the dell startup screen finishes and the windows xp scroll bar bootup screen starts. I also tried a PS/2 mouse and it did the same thing.
