Ok I shall give it a whirl with uninstalling a printer. I was quite shocked actually to find that a printer can cause such serious problems? What is it actually doing to make my system so erratic?

Angry Update

Just a few minutes after posting my last message, I had another serious crash causing the system to restart with no warning. Another stop error, I've attached the error report from eventvwr.msc just in case any of you guys can decrypt it.

Thanks

no, let's go ahead with the uninstall and reinstall of that printer first....may fix it, may not, but let's start there.

thanks,

Tried removing the printer altogether and left it uninstalled for a few days but same problem is still occurring. Any chance you guys can take a look at the stop error event reports please?

try d/l the latest drivers for your motherboard. We've eliminated about everything else, ram, video cards, peripherals.....have we checked temps yet?

Will try updating the motherboard. Don't think its temps because once the system has had a restart it runs as smooth as you like. Just once windows has loaded from the initial boot up that problems occur.
