OK, the fact your led comes on the power button and the fact you have checked the connections suggests that the power button is broken. Dell have move very far on from the Dell Optiplex GX1 series, and you'll find it very hard to get replacment parts for this particular model anymore. The best way I can think of, is to look for a broken one on e-bay and use the parts from that. From what I remember, it's quite easy to take the switch from one to another, just two screws and two clips.

For you other problem. What was the last thing that was done on your PC, last peice of software installed, removed for example? Can you get into safe mode by pressing the F8 key during bootup?

Yes, I think so. You told me that the switch is brocken down I have to change it although it is difficult to get parts for this version of Dell.

And you ask me, (for other problem) If their is any crash, or install, unistall ........

1. Now I want to know if I can use other parts I mean from different manufactures rather than Dell for this sparepart.?

2. Next, I don't remember any crash or any error msgs.

Yes, I get your last post.

Now I want to know if I can use other parts rather than Dell, or I must use Dell? or I can repair it?

For next problem, I don't remember to do something serious before.

thanks for your help

From what I remember ras, the is a small board that the microswitch is soldered to, which is specific to this particular model of Dell. I may be getting mixed up with the newer optiplex's, but this is how I remember the GX1's. If you can solder, it may be a simple case of soldering a new one on, otherwise I would take either the board or the PC into a repair shop. If you can get hold of a multimeter, you can use it to test if the microswitch is broken in the first place.

Also, I don't think you answered my question about getting into safe mode?

Oh,

The problem is not the power board my friend. I disconnected the power switch cable but still when I switch on the power from outlet the system starts outomaticaly.

I couldn't get in SAFE MODE becouse the system freezes when I try to select SAFE MODE from boot options.

Is there other guess?
