thanks. i know that the TV will not look as good as the monitor, especially if i wanna look at text ans stuff like that, but i dont have HDTV, i dont need it to be that clear, i just need it to be as clear as if i was watching the same movie on a DVD player. i like to save my dvds on a Hard Drive for convinience. will these pc-tv things let me watch the DVD movies on my computer as good as it would look if i just played them in a dvd player hooked up to my TV ?thats the question . thanks in advance for the help .

thanks madmonkey . 1 last question . my uncle has an HDTV big screen and a pc hooked up to it, he basically told me the same thing, that those 2 things would work for what i wanted, but he also told me that for a lil more money i can just go all the way and get a new Video card altogether to kill more than 1 bird with a stone, like lowering the CPU usage. I want to know if this is a good card and if it is compatible with what i have .
here is the link to the card: eBay: ATI RADEON 9250 256MB PCI VIDEO CARD LIKE NEW (item 170073614782 end time Jan-27-07 13:21:37 PST)

and the link to my PC specs : Compaq Presario S5100NX Desktop PC -  Product Specifications

The specs are still the same except i have 760 Mb of ram , and 330 Gb of HD now.
thanks ! ( youre just one more answer away from that "thanks" click ! )

Yep, I totally agree with your uncle. I personally prefer NVidia to ATI, but that's still a good card and will work in your PC no problems there pk.
