Default [Resolved] Harddrive or (and) Partition problem

Hi!

I'm not sure about where to post this, coz i don't know the real problem so i will try to explain somewhat: The thing is that i have been struggling with my computer for about 4 days, it began with the complete disappearance of the partition on my c: drive then after reinstalling everything came the problems with some of the programs (like winamp), missing files, winxp scanning the c drive , lost indexes etc...and that went on til i decided to erase the other partiton d: too......then suddenly i found myself with only 130GB free space with a 200GB hardrive....i tried win 98 fdisk, and when i entered the xp install it said that i have a partition of about 190GB, but the capacity of the drive was still 130GB :S The question is do i deal with a hardrive failure or a virus or something else....thx for the advices in advance...

Hi profchaos - you'll most likely find the missing space under disk management.

If you goto Start -> Run -> diskmgmt.msc - all in there
