Can I just ask: because this router isn't supported by AOL, does that suggest that it won't work with AOL, whatever I do?

No it just means that AOL will not help you setup that router or troubleshoot it, as long as you have the settings i gave above any router should be able to work with AOL.

upgrader is correct - there isn't a phesiable way for an ISP to not let a particular router connect to their network - especially if the settings are all correct.

AOL are complete and utter balls - so they might just be blowing wind up your rear-end so they don't have to admit the fault at their end :/

Who knows...*back to upgrader*

Ye i would have thought the problem was when Jim didnt put the "@aol.com" part in the username field when setting up the router.

That format is definitely required for AOL.

Thought I should pop in a quick post just to say that I haven't been able to check whether upgrader's solution will work or not - but I should know by tonight!
