I,ve just installed a new power supply and now i find that the sound (advance ac97) card cannot start (code10)

also anything that i plug into the usb ports is not being found

is my motherboard knacked

should i smash the whole system up cos i feel like it grrrrrrrrr

Hi brew,

Can you first make sure that both ATX plugs are securely connected to the motherboard.

Also make sure the new power supply you bought has enough power for all your devices. You can calculate this here: eXtreme Power Supply Calculator - What Power Supply Do I Need

And you definately have enough power?

I'm sure this is a hardware problem. If the sound and the USB sockets are attached to the same module, then it may have been shocked/damaged at some point. If this is the case, you may be better off buying an additional sound card and usb card, since it would be much cheaper than replacing the whole motherboard.

the power supply i took out was 250w and ive put a 400w one in so im sure that should be ok
