Default [Resolved] Networking trouble

my younger brother was messing around with our family PC and now i cannot connect to the internet from my pc,

USB Modem -------- Family PC -------Crossover Cable ------ My PC

the "family PC" can connect and use the internet

but for some reason "my PC" cannot browse the internet
I can access the "shared documents" on the "Family PC" from "My PC"
And i can use the shared Printer
But not the internet,
the only thing that i doesnt add up is

On "My PC" if i right click on "my network places" and click on "Search for Computers" it finds both "My PC" and "Family PC" but if i do the same thing on the "Family PC" it doesnt find anything and the search bar just keeps going and going forever.

any ideas, i think it may have something to do with winsocks because when i tried updating kaspersky it just kept saying failed to connect, cannot open socket.

Hey bagofcrap24!

Are you sure your internet connection is shared on the family PC?
