Default [Fixed] Power Supply fan not moving

This morning I noticed that my computer was making a weird noise and found out that the PSU fan was not moving at all. The PSU was kinda hot after I unplugged the computer and when I tried to manually spin the fan blades with a screwdriver it took quite a bit of force to get it to rotate. The blades flex and the fan is hard to move, almost to the point of not being able to move at all.

The power supply is about 6 years old. I don't suppose there is any way to fix it is there? Or should I consider it dead and just buy a new one all together?

Thanks in advance for any replies

I'm afraid it's a goner-- for what you'd pay to fix it if it's even fixable-- you could buy a new one. 6 years is a good run... how many rotations in six years ?

also due to the fact it's so old - i'm taking a wild stab saying that it was originally at max a 300watt psu....

that would now (after 6 years) be only at around 180watt...definately look for a new one...they are cheap enough

Hehe, it was orignally 350 watts and it was noisy as hell. Maybe this time I can get a quieter one. Anyway, thanks for the answers guys

Yes I'm afraid it's toast, time to consign it to the bin.
