Everytime I put in a DVD or some games the disk just sits in the disk drive and does nothing, it doesn't load anything, it doesn't even spin. Just sits their!
I can live with the DVD's but the games is what really p***** me off!
I'm useless with PC's so I don't have a clue what's up with it. Any help?

pow,
Please refrain from swearing and posting multiple times, please read PCHF rules: http://www.pchelpforum.com/site-anno...uncements.html Are you sure your CD-ROM drive is capable of playing DVD's, have you tried playing a DVD film? Or are you using copied cd's? |

When you go to My Computer, and click on your DVD drive, do you see the files stored on the drive, or does it ask you to insert a CD?

What I would really like to fix is my game problem, when I put some games in the Drive and click on My Computer it doesn't show it read the file or that a file is stored their, it's just blank. It just sits their doing nothing. |

Hi pow, it's most likely to be a hardware problem if you can't display files from the CD.
Make sure there are no scratchs on the CD and the CD's themselves are not dirty. Otherwise your CD head may be damaged, or the lens maybe worn or simly just dirty. You can buy CD and lens cleaning kits which may help: CD Cleaning |
