Hi Wickedwitch, welcome to the PC Help Forum.

Who is your internet through? Broadband connections are supposed to be 'always connected'...

I have my broadband with Bulldog but I don't leave it connected due to being away with work all week and the PC gets a bit too warm

Hi wickedwitch,
Do you have your broadband running through a ADSL modem that Bulldog sent you, not through a router etc? You modem should be a little box like think with lights on and shoud connect to your PC by usb. What type of error is coming up when you try to reconnect, or does it just refuse to do so. Gahar means when you have you broadband connection through a network, it is always on, but by the sounds of it your running it through a router.
Good Luck anyway
