Noob, here, hello to all. computer is locking up/freezing up. Had the geeks at worstbuy take me for $375, and the problem wasn't fixed.
here are my specs.

hp pavilion
850 mhz amd/athlon
128 mb sdram
45 gb hard drive

What are you doing when your computer freezes (normally) or is it just random?

Wow a lot of money wasted for nothing! You need to see about getting it back for misleading you. For that kind of money you could have bought a brand new system from them....It may not have been the best but it would have been a lot better than the one that you now have.

I think that your biggest issue here is going to be from 128mg of ram. That is not enough to really run windows XP and barely enough to run other windows operating systems. Just about any program running with a anti-virus program would lock you up or slow you wayyyyyyyyy downnnnn. and you surely can't play any of the newer games on it at all.

It's pretty much after startup, and then if freezes up...i kinda figured the ram had something to do withit. tks guys.
