Default [Resolved] PC Shutting down

Hi,

My computer is having a few problems.

When i start up my computer, it gets to the post screen and shuts down. Sometimes it shuts down before it gets to the post screen. Also, sometimes when it does survive it gets to the loading screen, but just before that where the white line is ( i think it's where you installed SP2 ) and it only does a few bars of the white line, then just comes up with a blue screen.

Could any of you guys give us a hand? I cannot do anything as it just shuts down.

Also, i don't think it's my computer overheating as i checked in BIOS and my CPU was at 25C and my m/b was 20C. I've basically tried everything. Different RAM, Different Graphics Card. Everything.

Hi Empty, do you know what it says on the blue screen?

There should be a Stop Error message come up - this would be greatly useful for us to find out the cause of the issue.

To be honest mate, that blue screen has only came up once. I've tried everything at least 50 times. But that blue screen hasn't came up again as of yet. I'm having to use the college computers to talk to you, as we have only 1 computer. This is really starting to bother me loads. I don't know what it is. My processor looks in great condition my PSU is like 1 month old, my ram is like 4-5 months old, so i don't get what it is. Any ideas why it just shuts down? I can't even get to the Windows Load Up Screen.

Thanks.

Hi Empty!

Which part of the post process does it normally shut down on?

See, at the moment this doesn't look like a SP2 problem. If it shuts down before you get to the part where it shows you what devices you have on your PC then it's more likely to be a hardware problem. The first thing I would check is your CPU. Is your CPU fan still working?

These random shutdowns can be a nightmare to pin down.
