Hi Dash,

Welcome to The PCHF,
Right, some basics to start with. Could you check that he fuse in the power cable is ok, if your monitor is powering up ok, take the cable from that, plug it into the pc and see if that works, if not then it might be as simple as the Power supply being blown.
Let us know how you get on!

the monitor is working..and i did try changing the fuse..didn't work so i guessed it might be the psu..just hope it's not the cpu or mobo..anyway thanks for your input.btw is there any way to determined if the psu is the problem. If i dismantled everything from the psu, power it up and the fan is not moving does that mean the psu is dead.

If the PSU fan is not woking then it is most likely the psu that is blown. Please DO NOT TRY TO DISMANTLE the PSU, it is very dangerous. Just get another on if you can and try that.

Hey Dash,

Very cool, I wasn't having a go at you, just some people have done that and then get upset when they get belted by electricty.
Take care and let us know how you get on.
