Default [Resolved] Floppy Drive and USB Floppy Drive

A few months back my inernal floppy drive kicked the bucket ( I am assuming), because it just stopped working all of sudden. When I would put a floppy disk in the drive and try to run it, there is a funny sound coming from the disk drive with a message that reads, Error, Drive A: Not ready or something to that effect.

So, I go out and buy an external floppy drive, which works perfectly except that I cannot or do not know how to make it work for the bootdisk I downloaded. I would prefer to have my internal floppy working if at all possible.

Thanks

Hya Rcox357.

You say it makes a funny sound , could it be that there is something stuck inside the floppie drive? Like a little spring , or the metal protection slider from a floppie?

Default Bios

Hi Rcox357,

Try going into the BIOS on your system (tap del/F2 on power up) Make sure the usb drive is connected to the system when you power up.Check in the boot options wheather you can enable booting from a usb device and move that to the first option for the boot sequence.
Keep us posted.
