When I first turned it on The CD-Rom shoots open and I think I heard 3 very fast beeps. Once it got done loading Windows XP it turned off. Whenever I try to turn it on again the lights flash quickly and go right off without the laptop turning on. I'm assuming something is wrong with the motherboard. I don't mess to much with laptops so any help would be greatly appericated. Thanks!

P.S. If you let it sit long enough it will do the part where Windows loads and shuts down.

Laptops aren't that very different from PCs when it comes down to basic troubleshooting . Have you tried starting it up in Safe Mode? (Continually tap the F8 key while booting until either a beep sounds or a menu appears. Use the arrow keys to navigate to Safe Mode, and hit the Enter key.)

If you can, I would suggest checking for malware. If you can download these programs onto a CD, and install them in Safe Mode, you should be able to run the programs. You want to follow the instructions for PreWork in my signature, and post back the logs for ewido and HijackThis when you are finished.
