I need someone who might be familiar with this tape drive.
I cannot get it to be recoginzed

Howdy againg Ka-mcginnis,
All your going to have to do is go into your BIOS and change the port type. If you need to know how to get into BIOS let me know what type of pc you have

Default problem resolved
The tape i was using was a travan tr-1.
the tape drive can only support qic-80.

qic-80 and travan tr-1 are listited together as compatable, but the travan tape is wider with more tracks. when i used the qic-80 worked immediatly
