Default [Resolved] Reinstalled XP and BSoD

Ok, I'm sorry for posting another problem when I have another post open but, this one is for my computer, luckly its not a spyware issue. I had to take my HD our and put it in another computer to redo the windows because it locked me our after my 30 activation time limit, but anyway, I put it back in my computer and now all I get is a BSoD and in the start when it says "detecting Primary Master" it says "Not Detected". I've tried unplugging it and plugging it back in and checking the connections but nothing is working. Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

Hya PJ.

Did you check if the jumper on the back of the HD is set to either "master" or "cable select" ? It was probebly set as "slave" to connect it to the other pc.

The part that is connected to the HD is labled "Primary" and the other thingy on the cable is labled "Slave".

That part should be ok then , but did you also look at the jumper position on the back of the HD?

ok I didnt know what you meant, luckly I had a friend that did and said that since I didnt have to change whatever that was when I switched the HD it wasnt the problem, then he told me to unplug all the stuff except the HD and try booting it and that didnt do anything so he said to reset the BIOS by taking out the battery and then I went into BIOS to set the date and time and its still giving me the same BSoD.

PraiseJah,

How are ya?

Do you hear a 'click' noise while the drive is booting up? It would sort of sound like a ping pong ball bouncing of a table tennis table. I hope not personally as that's not a good thing.

When you re-installed Windows did you delete and re-create the partition? Also what's the wattage on your power supply? There are times when a drive doesn't get proper power and sometimes drive access can cause a computer to freeze or even BSOD. I remember in windows 98 BSOD was just a fact of life but in XP it really means business.
