Default pny memory stick problems

I own a pny 1gb memory stick and after several months of use it has now stopped working. Everytime I put into the usb of my computer or laptop, the computer/laptop recognises the devise but when I click to open it I get "please insert a disk into drive 'driver letter' " and when I right click to re-format ..........nothing happens

Can any one tell me whats wrong?

Hi Hank,

Welcome to PCHF. We have a pretty great team of techs here, and I am confident we can at least figure out what is going on.

Can you please post the make and model of the stick?

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

Hi Hank, does this device show up in the list of drives in "My Computer"?

Yes it shows up on MyComputer, also on my laptop, both give a "bing" sound as you plug it does for all things, but when you double click it it just wont open, and says the error messages as stated before
