Unrar it , place it in the C:\Windows\Driver Cache folder , and then try to install again.

Thanks I wouldn't have been able to get it any other way, after a few years of having the pc I found out the copy of XP that was on here wasn't genuine >> should have built the bloody PC myself not buy one from a specialist shop

Unfortunatly it didn't =( I installed the update of the webcam from the site as well but still gettin the problem from the firs post, this bloody thing is erally starting to tick me off, how hard can it be to install a camera, my old one installed without any hitches to it, the last two new ones just don't happen. I do have another camera of the same make it came in a double pack, would it be an idea to uninstall the one i'm jusing now and tr that one out o0?

To be honest it looks like more of a USB driver problem that a problem with your camera.
If you disconnect the camera do you still get any yellow !'s in device manager?

Would you be able to post the make/model of your PC for us, if you are unsure then you can run any of the programs in the following link to determine your sytsem specs - http://www.pchelpforum.com/your-pc-detailed-info-here/

Can you try the following:
  1. Download and run Regclean from here - http://www.majorgeeks.com/download458.html
  2. Download and install the latest windows updates from - www.windowsupdate.com
  3. Once upated reboot your machine and boot into your BIOS. On your PC you would use F2 to get into the BIOS, then press F9 to load bios defaults. Then press F10 to save changes and exit. If you are stuck then you can find more info in your manual here - http://download.asrock.com/manual/K7VT2.pdf
  4. Boot into windows again and try to plug your camera in.
If this doesn't make any difference then click on 'Prework' in my signature and download and run Hijackthis and post the log file.
