Default HELP - primary master hard disk fails

Ok, so when i starts my computer, the screen pops up an error that says "primary master hard disk fails". This has happened many time before, and usually i would just reinsert the RAM card and everything would be fine. I notice that if i turn on the computer without a RAM card, there would be no visual on my computer. Anyway, the bigger problem is i did something really stupid,i went into CPU soft menu. In there the primary master disk is set to the current one, while the secondary master disk is set to none, and what i did was set the secondary master disk to auto. And now when i turn the computer on, there is no visual, let alone an error message. I think this is because the computer cant find the secondary master disk, so there is no visual, just like when i try to start the computer without inserting in a RAM card. So, any suggestions?? how can i first turn off the secondary master disk option without any onscreen visual so that i can go back into the menu. And what about the primary master disk? what is wrong. I'm in deep shyt, do i need to buy 2 disks now, primary and secondary, because now my computer is looking for both?? Please help. thanks in advance.

Hi moneyy12345!

Don't panic, you do not have to buy 2 disks.
You can get into the BIOS by tapping F2, or Del, during start-up.
You'll be able to turn Secondary Master to None there, although I don't think that's necessary.
How is your harddrive connected to your mainboard?
Are the jumpers set proper?

If you don't understand what I'm saying, post back

Default Failing Primary Master

Hi Moneyy12345

May you kindly clarify the following areas:

Before you experienced the current problem, how were your drives configured? ie to say were they all connected in the same ide channel or separately?
Did you change the configuration in any way (not in the BIOS)
Did you check the ide cable that coonects your primary master, maybe there is a leakage (cable destroyed and signals not reaching the desired destination).
