Default [Answered] New Power supply

I'm looking to buy a new PSU, but I'm not very knolegable towards what the best companies are or if I am buying a problem waiting to happen. The one I picked out is a 520W Aspire PSU for 60 bucks. What would you guys say about that one? I know I'm pushing it for the price, but I really cant afford anything more then that, so if any of you know of a better power supply for the same price or less, then tell me. It doesnt have to be pretty either, I just need it to function.

Hehe, looks like you went for the pretty one already

Personally, I always go with Enermax but I think they are above your budget atm. The one you have chosen looks ok and it sure packs a punch. The price is good and you are buying from a reputable source, so there will be no problems with returns should things go sour.

Things going sour is the thing I want to avoid really. I lost a mobo a couple weeks ago and am still waiting for the new one to come. For the most part, that Aspire was the cheapest PSU with a reputable name. There was an Enermax in the mix, but its a 350 watt, and thats what I already have. What about Coolmax? Theres this one. Doesnt have the same wattage, but 400 should be good for my application.

My budget has increased due to being the only decent mechanic in the area O0 Did a break job for 50 bucks. So now, I'm looking at about 100 dollars for the power supply. I know that many people stand beside OCZ, and I like the idea of modular cabling, so I was looking at this one here. I've heard plenty of good things about OCZ, and even people that have had DOA items from them still stand by them. I was also told to buy this Antec, but seeing that SO many people had trouble with them, even only being ASUS board, It makes me rather wary of buying it. So, suggestions please. The OCZ, Antec, or another that I dont know of?

My PC's Specs

Aspire ATXB2KL-BK
MSI K8N Neo4
AMD 64 3000+
eVGA 6600GT
1GB Corsair ValueSelect
LITE-ON CD-RW/DVD Combo Drive
80GB Seagate Barracuda
5 case fans (3 LED fans)

Thru personal experience and for the quietness (very important to me) I would prefer something like THIS. I have owned 4 Enermax PSUs and have never had a moments trouble from any of them

That looks like a good one to me, and it matches my case. So thats definitely a top choice.
