Default Noisy Fans

As you may remember, I got a new case not long ago, its ultra quiet. most of the time I cant even tell the computer is on just by listening. But, now and then it starts making this really loud sound, its just like, loud fans. But the fans on the case itself are quiet and on average the computer is quiet. Why does it get noisy sometimes and is there a way to quiet it down?

Hi,

Open your case and try stopping (with your finger) each fan for a second only, that way you casn eliminate the noisy ones. Also that way you will be able to tell if it's something else like your hard drive that's making the noise.

Default Cd/dvd-rom?

You may also want to check your cd/dvd as they can sometimes be noisy when spinning up. (I wouldn't suggest you try stopping it your finger though!)

I think that its the fan over the processor. Is there any way I can quiet it down? cause it gets pretty annoying.

Default CPU Fan

Hi PraiseJah,

If the cpu fan is noisy because the bearing has worn or other mechanical failure, you need to replace it ASAP, this is one of the most common causes of cpu burnout that I see. Keep an eye on the temps on your pc if you have to use it until you get a replacement.
Take care
