Hya popethyniawn , welcome to PCHF.

What cables did you remove when the pc was on?

You could try to reset youre cmos by removing the motherboards battery and move a jumper next to it around. Have a look in youre motherboards manuall for specific instructions.

But usually it is a bad thing to disconnect things whil the pc is powered up im afraid.

 Oh Dear Pope,

You obviously have power, and some graphics capabilities. Can you please post the other items in your system, HD/s, CD and DVD drives, Separate vid and sound cards, RAM, as well as the model of your Motherboard and CPU? When you plugged in all of the cables did you also hook your accessories back up, printer, scanner etc? If so, make sure that they are disconnected while you are troubleshooting.

You might try removing all of the extraneous items, and try booting with just the motherboard, cpu, one stick of RAM, keyboard and mouse, and see if you can get any farther, at least into BIOS.

Hopefully one of our hardware gurus will be online soon.

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN

LGW

Sorry ive not had internet access for a while. I managed to fix the problem. I removed everything and went back to basics. Which seemed to work, i believe the problem was my internet wireless pci card. Anyway everything seems to be ok now. Thank you to everybody who helped it was much appreciated.

Glad to hear it was just the wireless card , and not the motherboard or something.

Marked as Fixed , and see you around.
