Default [Resolved] OHH Poo, i thing my harddrive has just failed

erm this is very strange, i just installed a winamp and installed it and it wanted a reboot so i did just that. But no after 2 mins the pc lockes up after i rebooted it and i cant use my pc. (atm i'm on ma Parents). However earlier i was looking for some drivers for my old scanner and i had to download a tool to conver the drivers from 2000 to xp (cos they dont do XP drivers) which i did but it failed cos it thought i was using a floppy disc??. I used a program called winfixer but then i uninstalled. when i rebooted the first time is said it couldnt load winfixer, could i plz varify that the file exists in the start up. However it no longer does this.

the most stranges thing is, just before it crashes there is a little click, and then it freezes. As there is only one real mechanical part in the pc, (the hard drive) i thought i would put it in this section, however i will put this into processors, cos it maybe that, COS IT NEED THE HEATSINK CLEANING.

Hi hardlock.

Once again, i apologise that noone has responded to your query on this matter.

I see by your Xfire sig that you have been playing CoD recently...so you must have resolved your problem.

I will mark as Resolved and perhaps if you receive this message you could let us know what you did to solve the problem? It sounds to me like drivers were causing the issue - i've seen it happen before with drivers. But the click does sound like the hard drive - depending on how loud it was.
