Default Diamond Scanner error message

I have exactly the same problem, tried all the usual things, used a different USB port, reistalled software, etc. although the light is on the scanner and it sometimes responds to the buttons on the scanner itself, so it is obviously plugged in, still get the message that the scanner is not connected !

Have not had it that long from new, beginning to wonder if it's faulty. Any one got any ideas ?:undecided

Howdy there Dugsey, sorry for the late response to this post.

It sounds like the problem could be due to a corrupt driver/software or duplicate twain driver running.

The best way to resolve this is as follows:
  • Disconnect your scanner from the PC
  • Uninstall any software that came with the scanner e.g drivers and imaging software.
  • Check Add/Remove programs for anything relating to the scanner and uninstall.
  • Restart the computer in safemode and check your device manager, if there is anything relating to the scanner then remove it.
  • Clear out your temp files.
  • Then reboot your computer into normal mode, once windows has loaded plug you scanner in.
  • Windows should detect and install, it might require you to insert your scanners CD.
If it still doesn't work then open your device manager and see whether there are conflicts, if there are could you post the error for us or post a screenshot.
