there has to be somthing going on with the motherboard, as this would be extremly to almost impossible to have all those AMD's fail. is there a little square 4 pin molex on the motherboard that is open? when I say open I mean is there a space for a connector to go there?

Yah, your talking about the one where the CPU power cable goes to? From the powersupply onto the motherboard correct? Thats plugged in.

But remember I said 2 exact computers, with the exact same problems. It would be unlikely to have 2 failed Asus Motherboards too. There supposed to be one of the better brands.

Then it has to be a comptibility issue.. Like the board is supposed to be socket 939, as so for Semprons. Because you have built 2 boxes out of the exact same pieces... Im guessing none of the pins are bent,
My suggestion would be to put the Sempron in go into the BIOS and let it load default safe settings and try the 64. As I read through it again and you did everything I would think of doing besides kicking it a couple times

Ya it could be the BIOS are not to read the 64 bit cpu's. If your Sempron worked go back into the BIOS and look for the 64 bit architecture support and make sure it is on.

Haha, most definately, we both nearly picked it up and dropped it on the ground. I asked the other guy if it would be bad if I picked it all up and dropped it. He said "Yah, because that means I didn't get to."

I think whats going to end up happening is putting in different motherboards. Which is just plain rediculous, because I've looked over everything and know for a fact that it's all compatable, it just.. doesn't want to work. Very dissapointing, replacing it would all be fine but the customer is supposed to pick it up tomorrow lol.

I didn't really expect a quick and easy answer to this, but was hoping perhaps somebody had an idea of something very simple that wasn't looked over. I don't see that happening though :-/. Thanks a lot for your time Merlin. I'll be calling AMD first thing 9 AM and seeing what they suggest, I'll tell you what we end up doing with it too.

/mutters "****** computers"

Lol

After we updated the BIOS we checked all of that again. That BIOS, is thee absolute worse I have ever delt with, I think there were maybe 15 options, and only 5, I believe, tabs at the top.

Hey there Adam73647

You say you have updated the BIOS, did it change anything i.e is the Athlon 64 CPU chip working now?

Which BIOS update did you use, was it version 1009 from the site? - http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/...8N/K8n1009.zip

To me it sounds like either one of the following:
  • Requires BIOS update (which you have done)
  • Incorrect settings either motherboard or BIOS
  • The settings you need to make sure are exactly correct are anything to do with the FSB and Voltage
The following site contacts specs on your processor just incase you need them:
http://www.amdcompare.com/us-en/desk...=ADA3200AEP4AX

Let us know what AMD have to say.
