Default Sytem Halted

In my room i have a P3, which i plan to convert into a media center, that every so often says "hardware malfunction or system halted" :merror:. I am suspecting a faulty hard drive but have also thought that it could be the integrated graphics. Sometimes it happens at just random moments or when i go to play a music file or open something. Does anyone have anyidea of what else can cause this issue?? Has anyone else encountered this??:computer_

Specs are:
Pentium III 667 (coppermine core)
192mb SD ram
8.4gb Seagate HDD & 10GB Western Digital HDD
Intel Integrated Graphics
Supermicro 370SED Mobo
Network Card
Creative Sound Card
Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2

I do not have a way of testing the graphics as it only has PCI slots and i do not have a PCI graphics card. I might try putting the hard drives in other PC to see if that is the problem

Hi Jd16591,

It would be a good idea to test your HDD on another machine, it would also be a good idea to check all your hardware connections to make sure there isn't something being shaken loose by a slightly off balanced fan or what-not.

ok i checked the hard drives one was fine (the Seagate) but the 10gb i believe has a bad sector anyway. i have checked all the connections and they seem fine. fnas are fine and were only cleaned out recently. i am starting to believe that it is a motherboard problem. ill plug everything into a socket 370 mobo with a celeron 466 in it. ill plug everything into that and see if it is different. if it is ill transplant my 667 into that and give it some arctic silver or sumthin and ill be set.
